Every summer school year students want to experience a United States history course over a very short span of time. It comes down to about approximately 24 days. Students can miss the abilities, skills, and comprehension, that are needed to successfully understand why this course is so very important for our democracy.
So for this summer 2017 course we will be reading a supplementary secondary text along with the textbook. If you think that the original text is too hard you can modify the text to this:www.amazon.com. This is a little easier version but since you are about to be college students on 16 months you might want to read the original. further last summer many students were taking the AP English exam so reading and writing was some things people were practicing. In the course we will discuss why these ideas are pivotal for understanding us. Further to make sure that you are able to achieve an "A" grade this is the extra 10%. Do not forget your pursuit of mastery as part of the course work too. Each day questions for each chapter will be placed on this blog. Please keep all notes for this reading in your notebook. Any course questions outside "A Different Mirror", will be for the Mr.C's Blog link. Please try to not confuse the two blogs. A participation grade will be given for your ability online to keep these two blogs separate also.
There are many ways to get the book and you need to start now. By the first day I hope that you might have the book. You will need to search today, order, or e-book through a service or county library. There are many paths to obtaining the text for the summer class. This will need to be read everyday, along with the textbook. There calendar makes it that you should read about 1 Chapter every 1.5 - 2 days. We may have socratic seminars on each chapter each day of class. You will have specific discussions questions to answer on each chapter. These notes and answers will be placed into a personal interactive notebook. This will be extra from the basic information from the American Odyssey book that will also be useful for a successful completion of the course.
